Deactivate a 10Duke Scale Local License Server

You can deactivate an offline or online 10Duke Scale Local License Server if for example decommissioning, moving or re-installing it.

How to deactivate an offline Local License Server

The steps below give you an overview of how to handle the deactivation of the 10Duke Scale Local License Server in offline mode.

  1. Ask your customer to release any licenses in use by applications, deactivate their Local License Server installation, and provide the deactivation token file to you.

  2. Release the licenses that have been checked out for the Local License Server.

  3. Deactivate the Local License Server in the the 10Duke Scale UI console. The deactivation sets the Local License Server as inactive (the Not activated status), but does not delete it.

How to deactivate an online Local License Server

The steps below give you an overview of how to handle the deactivation of the 10Duke Scale Local License Server in online mode.

  1. Ask your customer to ensure all licenses are released, and to deactivate their Local License Server installation.

    The deactivation status is updated in the UI console by an API call sent by the online Local License Server.

  2. If needed, make sure the deactivation has been completed by checking that the status of the Local License Server is Not activated in the 10Duke Scale UI console.

    You can refresh the status data for the Local License Servers by clicking the reload icon above the table.

Deactivate an offline Local License Server in the UI console

To deactivate an offline Local License Server:

  1. In the left sidebar, go to LICENSING > Customers.

  2. Find the customer whose offline Local License Server you want to deactivate, click the three-dot menu for the customer, and select Local license servers.

    The list of that customer’s Local License Servers opens.

  3. Click the three-dot menu for the offline Local License Server you want to deactivate, and select Deactivate.

  4. Click Choose file, select the deactivation token file provided by your customer, and once the file has been uploaded, click Deactivate.

    The deactivation can be completed without the deactivation token file by selecting Force deactivation. Use this option only if your customer cannot provide the deactivation token file as proof.
